Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 May 2026

EnglishBridge — operated by Axenia Ignat, an independent translator and interpreter based in Ireland — collects and uses a limited amount of personal information when you contact us or use our services. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, and what your rights are under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Irish data protection law.

1. Who we are

Data controller: Axenia Ignat, trading as EnglishBridge.

Based in Ireland.

Contact: axeniaignat@gmail.com · +353 85 845 3344.

We do not have an appointed Data Protection Officer. For any data protection question, please contact Axenia directly using the details above.

2. What information we collect

We only collect information that we need to respond to enquiries and deliver our services.

  • When you submit the contact form: your name, email address, phone number (if you choose to give it), preferred reply language, service category (optional), and the free-text description of what you need help with.
  • When you email or call us directly: the contents of your message, plus standard email metadata such as your address and timestamps.
  • When you become a client: any source documents you share for translation, the resulting deliverables, and invoice and payment correspondence.
  • Standard server logs from our hosting provider (Vercel): IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps — used for security and reliability, not for analytics. No analytics cookies are set at this time.

4. How we use your information

  • To respond to your enquiry within 24 business hours.
  • To prepare and deliver translation, interpreting, or language support services.
  • To send invoices and process payments.
  • To keep secure records of work delivered.
  • To improve the security and reliability of this website.

5. How long we keep your data

  • Contact form enquiries with no follow-up engagement: 6 months, then deleted.
  • Active client correspondence: for the duration of the engagement.
  • Translation source documents and deliverables: held securely during the engagement and for up to 3 years afterwards, unless you ask for earlier deletion. Earlier deletion is honoured on request, subject to legal obligations.
  • Invoices and financial records: 6 years, as required by Irish Revenue.
  • Server logs: 30 days at our hosting provider.

6. Third parties who process your data

We use the following processors to operate the website and deliver services. None of them sells your data.

  • Vercel Inc. (United States / EU) — provides website hosting, content delivery, and basic server logs. Vercel uses Standard Contractual Clauses for any data transfers outside the EEA. Privacy policy: https://vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy
  • Google LLC — Google Fonts: fonts used on this site are self-hosted at build time by our framework, so Google does not receive your IP address when you visit our pages. Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
  • ClarityWeb (Ireland) — provides website maintenance and technical support. ClarityWeb may incidentally access personal data on the website during support work. Website: https://clarityweb.ie
  • Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France — EU) — delivers contact-form messages from this website to Axenia's inbox. Brevo is established in the European Union, so your enquiry data does not leave the EEA. Privacy policy: https://www.brevo.com/legal/privacypolicy/

7. Your rights under GDPR

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Request access to your personal data (Article 15).
  • Request correction of inaccurate data (Article 16).
  • Request erasure of your data (Article 17), subject to our legal obligations.
  • Request restriction of processing (Article 18).
  • Request data portability — a copy in machine-readable format (Article 20).
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests (Article 21).
  • Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
  • Lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission of Ireland (see next section).

To exercise any of these rights, email axeniaignat@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Complaints to the Data Protection Commission (Ireland)

If you believe we have not handled your personal data correctly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission:

  • Website: https://www.dataprotection.ie
  • Postal address: 21 Fitzwilliam Square South, Dublin 2, D02 RD28, Ireland
  • Email: info@dataprotection.ie
  • Phone: +353 57 868 4800

9. International transfers

The website is hosted by Vercel, which operates across United States and EU regions. Where data is transferred outside the EEA, transfers are protected under Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.

Our email delivery provider Brevo is established in France (European Union), so contact-form messages do not leave the EEA at any point in delivery.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when we change the website, our service offering, or our processors. Material changes will be summarised at the top of this page with a new "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

For any privacy question, please email axeniaignat@gmail.com.
