Terms of Service
Last updated: 18 May 2026
These Terms of Service set out the agreement between you (the client) and Axenia Ignat trading as EnglishBridge (the service provider) when you use our translation, interpreting, or language support services. By requesting a quote or engaging us for a project, you agree to these terms.
1. Services
EnglishBridge provides translation, interpreting, and language support services between Romanian, Russian, and English.
A full description of each service type is available on our home page.
2. Quotation and acceptance
- All work begins with a written quote, normally by email.
- A quote is valid for 14 days from the date it is issued, unless otherwise stated.
- The work is confirmed once you accept the quote in writing (an email reply is sufficient) and, where applicable, pay any required deposit.
- No work is begun before the quote has been accepted.
3. Pricing and payment
- Translation pricing is provided per project after we see the source document. The standard pricing structure is either per A4 page or per source word, depending on the document type — confirmed in the quote.
- Interpreting pricing is provided per session, with travel time and travel expenses (mileage, parking) listed separately where applicable.
- Invoices are issued on completion of the work, or in instalments for longer engagements.
- Payment terms are 14 days from the invoice date, unless agreed otherwise in the quote.
- Accepted payment methods: bank transfer (IBAN provided on the invoice). Other methods by agreement.
- Late payments may incur statutory interest in accordance with the European Communities (Late Payment in Commercial Transactions) Regulations 2012 (S.I. 580/2012).
4. Turnaround and delivery
- Estimated delivery times are confirmed in the quote.
- Quotes are returned within 24 business hours of receipt of a complete enquiry.
- Standard translation turnaround depends on document length and complexity.
- Express turnaround may be available at an additional rate, by agreement.
- We are not liable for delays caused by incomplete or unclear source materials.
5. Cancellation
- You may cancel a project at any time by written notice.
- If we have started work, you will be invoiced for the percentage of the project completed.
- Cancellation of confirmed interpreting bookings within 48 hours of the appointment may incur a cancellation fee (typically 50% of the agreed fee) to cover blocked time.
6. Confidentiality
All documents, conversations, and information you share with us are treated as strictly confidential.
We do not share your information with anyone outside the immediate engagement, except where required by law or by a court order.
All electronic files are stored securely. Source documents and deliverables are deleted on request, or after the retention period stated in our Privacy Policy.
This confidentiality obligation continues indefinitely, even after the engagement ends.
7. Client responsibilities
- You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of source documents you provide.
- We do not verify the truthfulness of the underlying content — our work is to translate or interpret accurately, not to authenticate documents.
- You confirm that you have the right to share any documents you submit — for example that you are the document owner, or that you have permission from the owner.
- Where a translation is self-certified, you should confirm acceptance with the receiving authority before placing an order. We will say this clearly on the Translation section of the site and next to the contact form.
8. Intellectual property
- Translation deliverables become your property once payment is received in full.
- Until full payment is received, copyright in the translated material remains with EnglishBridge.
- We retain the right to keep an internal record of completed work for reference and quality records, subject to the confidentiality obligations in section 6.
9. Limitation of liability
Our total liability to you, for any claim arising from our services, is limited to the fees actually paid by you for the specific piece of work in question.
We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages — including loss of profit, loss of business, or third-party decisions made on the basis of our deliverables.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, where such limitation is not permitted by Irish law.
10. Force majeure
Neither party is liable for delays or failure to perform caused by events beyond reasonable control (natural disasters, power or internet failures, sudden illness, etc.).
Where such an event occurs, we will notify you promptly and discuss next steps.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland.
Any dispute arising from these terms or from our services is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ireland.
12. Changes to these terms
- We may update these terms from time to time.
- Material changes will be summarised at the top of this page with a new "Last updated" date.
- For existing clients, material changes will be notified by email before they take effect for ongoing work.
